Plasterboard is also referred to as Drywall / drylining, and is used on walls and ceilings to provide an even / flat surface for skimming. Plasterboarding is more commonly used on rough, crumbling, badly damaged, or very uneven walls and ceilings, or to cover problematic surfaces such as thick Artex that cannot be skimmed as easily. Plasterboard also provides the opportunity to add a layer of fiberglass insulation to loft ceilings etc.
Insulated plasterboard can also be used to improve the energy efficiency of your home. Insulated plasterboard also offers improved moisture resistance.
Also referred to simply as plastering – provides a smooth and even surface that is ideal for painting. Plastering also increases durability and strengthens walls. Boarding is often not required, and a skim will easily rejuvenate damaged walls ready for decorating. Skimming will also typically cover most types of Artex.
Wallpaper needs to be fully removed before you have your walls skimmed. Please ask for a quotation for wallpaper removal if this is something that you cannot do yourself. Any radiators will also need to be removed in advance of skimming.
Stud Wall Installation – also referred to as a partition wall- a non-load bearing wall that can divide space within a building. We provide wooden (studwork) partition walls that can be insulated and / or soundproofed if desired. For commercial installations, fire regulations will be explained, and walls will be installed in accordance with legal requirements.
External Rendering – Provides a protective and decorative layer to the exterior of your property. Liam is an approved K-Rend installer, and this is our chosen product. The product comes in a choice of colours, and comes with a 30 year guarantee.
Certification, PLI and RAMS
LRS has full Public Liability Insurance cover, and for commercial projects, full RAMS and Certification will be provided upon request.
Where a skip is required, Liam will advise on the size of skip that you should order, and will provide recommendations on a skip company where requested. In a lot of cases, a skip may be excessive, as the waste may not justify a skip, or if you are located on a main road / do not have a garden to the front of the property etc, a skip may not be suitable. In this case, Liam will arrange waste collection from your property, by a carefully selected waste removal provider. Liam will request a quote for the waste removal, and this can be incorporated into your quote, or Liam will provide you with the details for the company, for you to arrange yourself.
Advice – Plastering needs to be considered at the start of your project. Plastering follows an electrician, but comes before any joinery work, decorating, or carpeting / flooring installation takes place.
